Not only in Hungary, but also all over the world, there is a trend of clear, reductive, fruity, aromatic wines being in demand. Although there are still many fans of the classic Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, wine-lovers and experts are more and more interested in Hungaricum wines.
Szent István Korona wine collection has been solely created to meet these market demands. The plantations in the Etyek-Buda wine region and the modern reductive technology provide and ideal basis. The head viticulturist’s young enthusiasm, international experience and his astonishing dedication to good Hungarian wine are reflected in his creations. Having become the flagship wine of the brand, and after having won several international awards in the last few years, in 2011, Irsai Olivér and its creator were awarded the Decanter World Wine Awards Regional Trophy, which is one of the most prestigious awards of the industry. The wine was also entered into the competition for the best white wine, and drew the international wine experts’ attention to the achievements of Hungarian viticulture.
Balance and candour amply describe the viticulturist and his wines, and the same qualities ensured the success of Szent István Korona collection and made it well-known.
